The Egg Hill occurrence is located south of Rogers Creek on Egg Hill, approximately 5 kilometres southwest of Port Alberni.

The area is underlain by volcanic and sedimentary rocks of the Devonian Duck Lake Formation, Sicker Group and by volcanic rocks of the Upper Triassic Karmutsen Formation, Vancouver Group. These have been intruded by Early to Middle Jurassic Island Plutonic Suite. The rocks comprise basaltic and andesitic tuffs, breccias and flows, argillite, siltstone and chert intruded by dioritic rocks.

Locally, a 1.2 metre wide, ankerite altered, shear zone hosts pyrite and pyrrhotite mineralization.

In 1981, Heather Resources completed a soil geochemical sampling program on the Joy 1-2 claims. Former workings in the way of trenches and pits were located at this time. In 1986, Westmin Resources explored the area as part of the Pat claim. Half of the 30 grab samples collected reported high antimony, up to 2029 parts per million, anomalous arsenic to a high of 903 parts per million, scattered high copper to 0.64 per cent, scattered anomalous silver to a high of 45.8 parts per million and scattered gold to a high of 0.137 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 26743).

From 2001 through 2007, the area was explored by L. Stephenson as the HV 1-10 claims. Exploration programs included prospecting, and soil geochemical sampling surveys.
